C. Fox Communications partnered with Heather Hamlin Brown of Mission Equilibrium on this grand opening project, in the Spring of 2006. To celebrate the opening of the first Planet Fitness location in Maryland, and the first woman-owned location in the United States, C. Fox and Mission Equilibrium pulled together a grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting, which was attended by local and state government dignitaries. The project also consisted of a strong public relations campaign, which included coverage in the Baltimore Examiner, Baltimore Business Journal, and various local newspapers. The public relations program was so successful that Planet Fitness was able to open its second location less than six months later. | |  |
