Don is a veteran communicator with extensive experience in national politics and corporate affairs. At C.Fox, Don’s focus is on strategic communications counsel, long term planning, media training and business development.
After 20 years on Capitol Hill, Don spent four years as vice president of worldwide corporate communications for Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis and served at the executive level of two of Washington’s best known public affairs firms: Powell Tate and Ketchum Public Affairs. He was also a founding partner of Prism Public Affairs. He has served clients in many sectors including transportation, defense, financial services, communications, and several nonprofit clients.
Don served as the Executive Director of the X PRIZE Foundation’s Automotive X PRIZE and as Executive Director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, appointed by Majority Leaders George Mitchell and Tom Daschle. His time in the US Senate included serving as Chief of Staff to Senator Tom Harkin, Iowa. Don was appointed convention manager by President Bill Clinton for the Chicago Democratic National Convention in 1996.
He began his Washington career after managing Representative Richard A. Gephardt’s first race for Congress in 1976 and served as Gephardt’s spokesperson through his first race for President. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Don is a graduate of St. Louis University, married and has five children.
